Call for Papers: Special Issue on Emerging Technologies in Transportation Research for Women in Engineering

We are excited to announce a special call for papers for an upcoming issue of Communications in Transportation Research(COMMTR) that is dedicated to showcasing the scholarly contributions of women scientists in the field of emerging technologies in transportation. This special issue aims to celebrate and amplify the voices of women in science, engineering, and technology, and to highlight their innovative work and research in transportation.
Objective:
The objective of this special issue is to provide a scholarly platform for women scientists to share their groundbreaking research and insights on the latest advancements in transportation technologies. We seek to promote gender equality in science and encourage more women to pursue careers in transportation research and development. We aim to create an inclusive environment that not only recognizes the achievements of women in transportation but also serves as a catalyst for furthering their professional growth and leadership in this critical area of study.
We hope that this special issuewill be the foundation of an international network of female researchersin transportation, a starting point for future collaborations and discussions.
Scope:
We welcome submissions that address, but are not limited to, the following topics:
žInnovative applications of interdisciplinary technologies in transportation
žSmart transportation and emerging technologies
žElectric shared mobility systems and their multidimensional benefits
žAutonomous vehicles and their societal implications
žAI Advancements for enhancing transportation efficiency
žGender perspectives in transportation
žWomen-led startups and their impact on the transportation sector
Submission Guidelines:
ŸManuscripts should be original and not published elsewhere.
ŸAll submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process based on merit and quality of research.
ŸPapers should be submitted through the journal’s online submission system, clearly indicating that they are intended for the “Women in Transportation” special issue.This is to ensure that your submission will be considered for this special issue instead of being handled as a regular paper.

Special Submission Requirements:
ŸThe first author or corresponding author must be a woman.
ŸWomen must have contributed at least 50% of the work presented in the paper. This includes research design, data collection, analysis, and manuscript preparation.
ŸFor Research Articles, Replication and data sharing are mandatory, with data serving as strong evidence and adhering to the “Data and Code Policy” of COMMTR. Please submit your replication package and explanatory file to ETS-Data (https://ets-data.sciopen.com), our designated repository indexed in the Data Citation Index.
